We offer a four week programme, with hands-on experience of working in school, with support from our specialist staff. We’ll also pay you £300 per week. The features of the programme include:
- Classroom placements
- Formal mentoring
- Testimonial on completion
- Support for teaching training applications
- A guaranteed interview for a teaching training programme
Internships run from Monday 17 June to Friday 12 July 2019.
The majority of interns’ time will be spent in the classroom. A Professional Learning Programme, based on that provided to trainee teachers, will include sessions on child development and learning, safeguarding, managing behaviour and SEND, outstanding teaching and learning and assessing and evaluating teaching and learning.
Support through the programme will be through mentoring, paired placements, group meetings and an online learning platform including a discussion forum and reflective journal.
To apply for an internship, you should be in your penultimate year of your undergraduate course, studying a subject which qualifies you to teach maths or physics.
The Internship programme in Bradford is run by Northern Light Teaching School in partnership with Bradford Birth to 19 School Centred Initial Teaching Training (SCITT).
