Chartered-College-of-Teaching-LogoThe Chartered College of Teaching has launched on new online course to help teachers make best use of technology in the classroom. The course is free and open to both primary and secondary teachers.

The College’s Chief Executive, Dame Alison Peacock said: “We know that pupils thrive when our teachers have opportunities to learn and develop. However, we know how busy teachers and leaders are and the time it can take to develop consistently great CPD and materials. That is why we are working hard to provide teachers with the research and insight to develop their skills in the classroom.”

The new online programme explores effective ways of using technology to support teaching and learning in the classroom.  Course content is informed by the latest research.

The course lasts four weeks, with three hours study time per week.

The course is designed to help teachers:

  • Choose when to use technology as a tool to support learning and how to evaluate its impact
  • Use technology to present new concepts effectively and to develop meaningful pupil collaboration
  • Support pupils’ long-term retention of content, using technology
  • Improve feedback practices.
